Festival Parade ‘Beannacht na Préachán’ & Witches Dance

  • Leap national school 1 Kilmacabea Ct CO Ireland (map)

Free to dress up & join in

Join us as we celebrate some local lore and the Crow population that brings good fortune!.

Accounts on Dúchas about the Mallacht na Préachán (Crows Curse), say that when crows nest in an area it will have good luck and prosper. If the crows leave, it is thought that they take the luck of the area with them.

The parade will start at the National School in Leap and end at the bottom of the village.

Fire performers will guide the way as the procession of Préachán (crows) and Taibhse Préachán (Scarecrows/crow ghosts) glide down the village.

Watch out for the terrifying spectors and dancing witches that will join them.
